Harissa
It all started when…
Super aromatic hot paste, the more you use the hotter it will be.
Handmade in Healesville’s Harissa Paste is a vibrant and spicy North African chilli paste made with a blend of roasted red peppers, chilies, garlic, and spices, perfect for adding heat and depth to a variety of dishes.
Marinade for Meats:
Use as a marinade for lamb, chicken, or beef. The harissa paste’s smoky, spicy flavors infuse the meat with a deep, bold taste, especially when grilled or roasted.
Spice Up Vegetables:
Toss vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, or eggplant with harissa before roasting. The paste enhances the natural sweetness of the vegetables with heat and complexity.
Dip:
Mix with yogurt, hummus, or sour cream to create a spiced dip for chips, pita bread, or crudités. This creates a cooling yet flavourful accompaniment to snacks or appetizers.
Eggs and Breakfast Dishes:
Add a spoon of harissa to scrambled eggs, shakshuka, or on top of avocado toast to give your breakfast a spicy upgrade.
Stir into Soups and Stews:
Enhance the flavour of soups and stews by stirring in a spoonful of harissa. It pairs especially well with lentil or tomato-based soups, adding warmth and depth.
